Newly opened in the Spring/summer of 2002, this park is a fun diversion for those who skate. The park contains elements of both street and transition but is basically composed of a back and forth type layout ( quarter pipe/rollin to obstacle/flybox back to quarterpipe). There is a 5 or 6 foot tall mini ramp that shares the deck of an opposing bank wall , allowing for some cool transfer possibilities. The larger section of the park also has a variety of obstacles to skate including a pyramid, hubba ledges, flybox, and spine quarter as well as banked walls and quarter pipes of varying heights. The smaller beginner section contains midget versions of the rest of the park with tiny banks, small kinked rail and a 3 foot tall quarter pipe. For beginners this section is good to have, for anyone who's been skating for any length of time, this section will frustrate you by it's extremely compacted design and the crowds of kids that don't understand how to wait their turn. The high point of the park is the quality of the construction of the ramps. Professionally built of the highest quality materials, this park should stay in excellent condition for a long time. For those of us who are familiar with the maintenance and upkeep (or lack thereof) typically associated with public parks, this should be a god-send. Worth a trip to skate it: stay for awhile if you enjoy skate parks, hit and run if you don't! |
